All material is peer reviewed by both our Emergency Physicians and rural GP team prior to publication. Whilst the primary authors produce, collate, review and present most of the educational segments we welcome input from other members of the Emergency Medicine team across WA.

Who are we?

Dr James Rippey – Emergency Physician and Ultrasound Clinician

James has a passion for innovative education. Critical care, clinician performed ultrasound, standardisation in resuscitation and early pregnancy are his main areas of interest. He has worked in Kalgoorlie, Albany, Broome and across the Kimberley as well as in Perth.

Dr Ioana Vlad – Emergency Physician and Toxicologist

As well as her work as a metropolitan Emergency Physician and toxicologist, Ioana works with the Emergency Telehealth Service (ETS), helping to deliver health care to rural Western Australians. She has also worked in rural Western Australia and been involved in a diverse range of rural education projects.

Dr Casey Parker – Rural GP proceduralist, based in Broome

Casey is well known as a talented and enthusiastic rural GP proceduralist, educator, social media guru and FOAMed creator and supporter. He is based in Broome and understand the challenges of rural Emergency Medicine, and brings years of experience, wisdom and insight to our team.
