Adrenaline Preparations & Indications
Adrenaline 1 mg in 10ml ( 1:10,000 Minijet or N/saline)
  • Use as a 10 ml bolus in Advanced Life Support, every second round of CPR (4 mins)
  • Use as 0.5 - 1 ml aliquots (50 - 100 mcg) as a "push dose pressor" and titrate to BP / cardiac output

Adrenaline 1mg in 1 ml (neat 1:1000 )

Adrenaline Infusion
  • Prepare 3mg of adrenaline in N/Saline  or 5% glucose.  Total volume = 50 mls.
  • This is equivalent to 60 mcg per mL
  • Running at 1 ml/hr is equivalent to 1mcg/minute
  • Titrate to BP / CO - arterial line recommended
  • INDICATIONS
    • shock: sepsis, cardiogenic, neurogenic, anaphylaxis
    • Acute severe asthma

Adrenaline Nebulisation
  • Dilute 1mg / mL solution up to 5 mLs of saline and place into nebuliser well.
  • SEVERE CROUP:  use 0.5 mL/kg of the 1:1000 amps (to max of 5 mLs)
    • Can use same for post-extubation stridor / upper airway oedema
  • Acute Severe Asthma
